COURSE OF STUDY - BHMS
 
NHMC&H is a co-educational institute offering under-graduate course BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic System of Medicine & Surgery) of 5 ½ years duration including one year paid internship approved by Central Council of Homoeopathy. It has a 100-bedded hospital attached to it. The main objective of the institution is to provide and promote homoeopathic education, training and to collate and disseminate the potentiality of Homoeopathic System of Medicine.

Internship Training –
 
Each candidate shall be required to undergo compulsory rotating internship of one year, after passing IVth BHMS. Thereafter only, shall the candidate be eligible for the award of Degree of BHMS by the University.
 
Rotation of interns shall be as under –


  1. Practice of Medicine – 8 months

  2. Surgery – 1 month

  3. Gynaecology & Obstetrics – 2 months

  4. Community Medicine – 1 month


Attendance  
A requisite percentage of attendance in class/wards/laboratories as per rules laid down in the Ordinance of University of Delhi will be necessary before the students are sent for University Examinations.

 

75% of attendance in a subject for appearing in University Examination is compulsory.  

 

 Students enjoying the benefits of scholarship or free ship will lose this privilege in case they fail to secure 75% attendance and/or violate the rules of discipline of the institute.  

 

General Rules

 

Students admitted to Ist BHMS must join their classes on 16th July or any other date fixed by the University.    

 

Fees should be deposited by 15th April for IInd, IIIrd and IVth BHMS. Fine will be charged for late fee. Names of the defaulters will be struck off from the college rolls on 1st May.

 

All applications for leave must be made in writing to the Principal. However there is no provision for any kind of leave (including medical leave) and every student is required to complete the percentages of attendance as prescribed by University of Delhi.    

 

Every student admitted to the college must maintain discipline, failing which the Principal reserves the right to expel him/her from the Institute, without assigning any reason.    

 

Most of the decisions/notices are displayed on the Notice Boards and announced through class incharges. It is in the interest of the students to check the Notice Board on a regular basis.    

 

Ragging in any form inside/outside the campus is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule will make the student liable to disciplinary action and even expulsion from the college. Victims of ragging should immediately approach Principal/any faculty member and seek intervention.    

 

Students shall apply to the Principal in written for issue of any certificates, travel concessions and identity cards etc. Normally seven working days will be required for issuing these certificates/concessions.  

 

Committee Against Sexual Harrassment

 

A committee against sexual harassment has long been active to prevent and counter any untoward incidents regarding students, faculty and staff. Details of Committee:-

Library The college library has sufficient books on various subjects and the students may borrow books from the library as per library rules. College library also provides facilities for issue of textbooks for one year under the Book Bank Scheme.    

 

Refund of Caution Money  

 

A student who passes out can claim the refund of caution money within one year from the date of passing, failing which no application will be entertained. At the time of refund of money the candidate will be required to produce a “No Dues Certificate” in prescribed proforma available with the academic assistant. Caution money shall be refunded only after the completion of BHMS course. No refund of any fee is made if the candidate withdraws/leaves the institution without completing the BHMS course.  

 

**Vacations –  

 

The regular classes in college are suspended in winter and summer vacations as under – Summer vacations: May 8th – July 15th  

 

Winter vacations: December 23rd – January 26th  

 

**Special classes/exams are held during this period students are of the same notified from time to time.
